About Us

About Us
At Hatsu, we believe in homes that feel lived in, not staged. Every product we design carries the story of its making — from the handpicked material to the artisan’s final touch.
Meet Our Founders

Founded by two siblings - Saumil and Yashvi Suchak, Hatsu grew from a simple idea -that everyday objects can carry the depth and refinement of art.
The founders bring their combined expertise to bridge the gap between art and accessibility.
With a background in textile design, Yashvi’s world is defined by a deep fascination with colour and form. Her practice revolves around the quiet power of detail — how a shift in hue, a line of stitch, or a change in proportion can completely alter the way a piece is felt. This sensitivity infuses Hatsu’s language of design, where palettes feel intentional, textures are expressive, and every composition carries a sense of calm precision.
For Yashvi, design is an experience — one that invites wonder through refinement, and impact through the smallest of gestures.
With a foundation that lies in engineering, Saumil brings a technical curiosity and a passion for material innovation to Hatsu. His approach combines functionality with design integrity — constantly exploring new possibilities in how materials can interact. From pairing metal with ceramic or alabaster, to reimagining familiar forms through unexpected textures, his work pushes the boundaries of craft and construction. For Saumil, every object is an opportunity to experiment, refine, and create something genuinely distinctive. His vision ensures that Hatsu remains a space where design meets discovery.
Our Vision
The word Hatsu comes from the Japanese word for “beginning” — a fitting reflection of our ethos. Every statement piece we create explores this idea of renewal and discovery.
Our journey has always celebrated the playful and the unconventional. Today, we continue to evolve, delving deeper into the dialogue between shape and form — where design becomes a conversation rather than a conclusion.
What We Do

Hatsu creates handcrafted furniture, objects, and artworks that merge materiality, form, and emotion.
We are fascinated by how diverse materials can interact, complement, and elevate one another. The natural materials we choose are selected not only for their texture and durability, but also to uphold our commitment to sustainability and longevity. At the core of our practice lies a distinctive design language — an exploration of lines, intersections, and balance — reimagined through our collections to invite a deeper appreciation of form and connection.
